| How Does it Work?
When you join the MarketLinks service, it’s as easy as:
| Set it . . . |
| • |
You select active titles from Books In Print (BIP) for inclusion in your MarketLinks |
| Then forget it -- Bowker does the rest |
| • |
Bowker assigns and registers MarketLinks based on Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs), an industry standard for online tagging similar to the ISBN |
| • |
Bowker creates pre-populated MarketLinks using Books In Print® metadata (descriptions, table of contents, etc.) |
| • |
All information in a MarketLink is automatically updated and maintained weekly via the Books In Print database feeds -- with zero Publisher effort |
| • |
Bowker manages everything else: keeping interlinking forever up-to-date, pointing to retailers for purchasing and other transactions, policing bad links, and more |
